This comforting Big Mac casserole transforms the iconic burger into a cozy, oven-baked dish loaded with ground beef, pickles, cheese, and a creamy 'special sauce,' topped with crispy tater tots or hash browns. It's fast, flexible, and perfect for family dinners or potlucks.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until fully browned. Drain any grease.
In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir in the chopped pickles.
Pour half of this sauce into the skillet with the beef and mix well.
Transfer the beef mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Top with frozen tater tots or hash browns, spreading evenly.
Bake at 375°F for 25–30 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crispy.
Drizzle remaining sauce over the top and garnish with extra pickles if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
Swap tater tots for hash browns or cauliflower for a low-carb version. Add jalapeños for heat, or bacon for extra flavor. You can prep it a day ahead and bake before serving. Pairs well with salad or roasted vegetables.
