This cheeseburger casserole is everything you love about a classic burger, beef, cheddar, ketchup, mustard, baked into a cozy, family-style dish with pasta. It’s affordable, beginner-friendly, and tastes like pure comfort.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Boil pasta in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in garlic powder, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
Add cooked pasta to the skillet mixture and stir until well combined.
Spread half the beef mixture into the baking dish. Top with half the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Optional: top with diced pickles or shredded lettuce.
Notes
Make it low carb by swapping pasta for cauliflower rice or cabbage. Add diced pickles, bacon, or shredded lettuce after baking for a Big Mac twist. Freezes well, wrap tightly and bake from frozen when needed.
