Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional, for glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together flour and salt in a bowl.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then mix in lemon juice and zest.
  • Mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  • Bake for 23–25 minutes until edges are set and center slightly soft.
  • Cool completely before glazing.
  • Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice (and zest if using) to form glaze.
  • Spread glaze over brownies and let set before slicing.
