These maple donut bars are soft, cake-like, and topped with a rich maple glaze. Baked instead of fried, they deliver classic donut flavor with less effort, making them perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
In another bowl, mix eggs, melted butter, maple syrup, buttermilk, and vanilla.
Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden and set.
Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
Pour glaze over slightly cooled bars and spread evenly.
Let glaze set for 30 minutes before slicing into bars.
Notes
Do not overmix batter to keep bars tender. Bake until a toothpick shows moist crumbs. Glaze while slightly warm for best absorption. Store in airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
